Hi Sophia – I am glad to hear that you are on WHAT too. What a great sport to participate in! Maybe I will see you at a few meets this year. What is your favorite stroke? And yes I still have the picture of your brother on my wall. I love it!

Hi Zoe – Spain and Italy all in one summer? That is simply terrific!! I can’t believe the boat had water slides on it – how wild! I bet you can’t wait to go back.

Hi David – It sounds like you had a fun and interesting summer with your family. I can’t believe you caught 6 fish. I am not a fan of fishing because I don’t like to touch them or put the worms on the hook. But I do like to eat some fish at dinner. I am sad to hear about the cows too. Unfortunately that part of the circle of life.

Hi Owen – I am jealous that you were able to do so many exciting things this summer. Eating ice cream is one of my favorite things to do (especially in the summer!) I never knew you used raw chicken drumsticks to catch crabs. I hope they didn’t bite you!

Hi Noah – I am glad I met you and that you are in my class this year. We will have tons of fun while we learn. That’s terrific you were able to spend the summer with your dad and that you rode a pony. Congratulations on your swimming abilities. Yeah!

Dear Mrs. Sinatro,
I was so happy to meet you today. This summer, I went to Brownstone Quarry and I got to swim around and go on the zip line. It was exciting. I didn’t expect it to be so much fun! The more I went down the more fun I had. I also went to Vermont and saw my best friends from New York City, where I was born. We swam in Silver Lake, hiked up a mountain and we also went frogging and ate ice cream (not at the frog pond, though). We ended our summer down the Cape for a week. I went crabbing there. We used nets and raw chicken drumsticks to catch them. See you tomorrow!

Hi. I’m David. This summer I went to Cape Cod with my family , and did a lot of great things. I went fishing with my uncle. I was with my cousin and my sister, and we brought home 6 fishes in total. I caught 3 trout. We cooked them, and ate them. There were a lot of bones, but they were delicious. We also went back to my uncles house and saw that he just got two cows. He already has a horse. I heard that in two years they will be sending the cows out to be killed and used for meat. That was so sad to hear.

Hi Musab – I am so happy to hear that you took swimming classes this summer. Swimming is such an important life skill to have. How exciting that you only have 2 more to go to be a professional swimmer. Impressive!! See you on Sept. 1st!

Hi Milo – Austria sounds like a great place to visit! I would love to check out the castles and see edelweiss. Reminds me of The Sound of Music (one of my favorite movies!) I would also love to taste the desserts. They sound yummy!
August 30th, 2011 at 9:30 pm
Hi Justin (aka JT) – What a busy camper you were this summer. Hiking, fishing and biking – sounds tiring! I don’t think I would like to go froggin because I don’t like to touch frogs! But s’mores – those I love!!
August 30th, 2011 at 9:28 pm
Hi Mishi – Oh my gosh! What a busy and exciting summer in the Grand Canyon. I haven’t been there yet, but hope to take my children someday. I can’t believe you did all that hiking. Awesome!

Hi Lily – The American Girl Doll store is an exciting place to visit. So much to see. My nieces love American Girl dolls too. I can’t believe you know how to sew their clothes. What a talented seamstress you must be!!
August 30th, 2011 at 7:38 pm
Hi Mrs.Sinatro,
Two exciting things that I did this summer were that I went to the American Girl doll store and got Kanani the American girl of the year and I went to my Aunt’s house and learned how to sew clothes for my dolls by hand and with a sewing machine!!!!!

Hi there. I ’m Mishi Froman. My mom and I spent my summer in Las Vegas because my dad works there. Last month I went to the Grand Canyon! Twice! The first time we walked around the rim and went down a mile and a half. The next time, my mom, my dad and I went camping in the Grand Canyon. The trail we followed was called Bright Angel. It took 2 ½ hours to walk down to the campground. It took 5 hours to get back up. We slept at a place called Indian Garden. It’s called that, because before the settlers came, Indians actually used it as gardens. It has springs, streams and water. They planted special cactus which grow fruit, and they planted beans and corn, too. We walked down one afternoon and set up camp. We weren’t allowed to make fires but we were allowed to use a special stove that was tiny. The next day we went to Plateau Point. We saw California Condors doing high sky hunting and we got only 5 feet from a raven. We saw mule deer and puny tiny deer that jumped like rabbits. We saw some special birds that were blue and black, not just any ordinary blue but glossy blue. As you get further down into the canyon, it gets hotter and hotter. At Indian Garden it was 90 degrees at night. And if you go all the way to the bottom, it’s 15 degrees hotter, but the water is frigid cold and can kill you with the cold. We also saw a few chipmunks and LOTs of squirrels. I hope you enjoyed my paragraph. Ask your parents to take you to the Grand Canyon, because it really is worth it.

Hi Mrs Sinatro,
I am Justin (or JT) and I did lots of things this summer. The thing I loved the most was going to our campground for a week. I got to fish, hike, bike, eat s’mores, go frogging and just be outside all day long! See you in 2 days!!

Hi Mrs. Sinatro,
I am Milo and I will be your student this year. This summer I went to Austria to see my grandparents. We own a house there. The house is under a huge castle called stahremberg. I play there a lot. We also climbed the biggest mountain I have ever seen. It was called the Rax and had a plateau at the top. We had our cousins with us almost the whole time! We swam in 2 pools, both of which were freezing! Although 1 was a freshwater mountain spring pool, that’s no excuse. On the Rax we saw edelweiss, the national flower of Austria. It was a rare sight . We also went to Vienna, the capital and had a great dessert. Well Austria is known for it’s desserts, So no wonder it was good. Well I guess that’s not quite it, but it’s enough See you September 1st!

Hi Fernando – Sounds like you are another dare devil in my class who is also pretty coordinated if you can use a rip stick too. I see zip liners on TV and get a little nervous for them. I can’t wait for school to start too!!
August 26th, 2011 at 7:03 am
Hi Kaylynn, Sounds like you were really busy this summer doing exciting activities. Zip lining? You are brave!! I think I would have chickened out. I like to keep my feet on the ground.
August 25th, 2011 at 10:14 am
Hi Mrs. Sinatro,
I can rip stick too. I also like to zip line!! And I can’t what to be in your class. See you next Thursday.
August 24th, 2011 at 9:55 pm
Hi Mrs. Sinatro,
My name is Kaylynn, and this summer I went to White Mountain. We bought a ticket to do exiting activities such as zip lining, rock climbing, sky rides, and something where you get hooked up with bands and jump on a trampoline. My favorite part was the zip line. First I was scared but then I said,”Well, its now or never” so I did it. Turns out it was pretty fun! It was a beautiful view from up top. I could see the rocks, trees, and water.
Well that’s my summer!
August 17th, 2011 at 3:38 pm
Hi Madeleine – I can’t believe you already finished the 5th Harry Potter and you haven’t even started 4th grade yet. WOW!! I think it is awesome that you have mastered the rip stick. Those boards look pretty tricky!

Hi Sophia – What a super hobby. I am jealous that you get to ride horses so often. I haven’t been on a horse since I went to a dude ranch when I was in Girl Scouts. Oh so long ago! Reggie is yelling at me right now for food. gtg!
August 17th, 2011 at 9:13 am
hi Mrs. Sinatro,
Something i enjoyed this summer was being able to go to lots of horse shows and riding a pony named Roxy. I ride in the summer and winter! I am very thankful for getting to horse back ride! I did say hi to Nikolas for you! see you when school starts.
August 14th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
