October 6, 2009 we have been invited to spend an afternoon with Author/Illustrator Mo Willems in his studio. He will be speaking to us and 199 other schools around the United States via a live simulcast. All prek- second grade are invited to attend!!

We celebrated International Dot Day on Sept. 15. Our students did dot illustrations and dot writing. We recognized that everyone is special and has his/her own talent.

One day when the sun started to set, the sun saw that she had polka dots on her. The ocean and the sky also had polka dots. The only thing that the sun had that the others didn’t have, were her dots were colorful. She didn’t like to be different. Then the sky said “Everybody is different.” Then the sun noticed that everybody is different.
