HW:  Acid Rain Lab – - experiment design; state problem, develop hypothesis, identify variable and create a rough draft of a procedure that would test your hypothesis.

Climate factors reviewed.

HW: Use the table on page 304 to create vocabulary flip charts for each of the following air pollutants:  carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxide, particulate matter, VOC’s, *ground-level ozone (*this is described on page 303).

Thurs 2/23

Active Reading – - What causes air pollution?  completed and discussed in class.

Notes -  – Compare/contrast primary pollutants and secondary pollutants.

HW:  Read about smog formation and temperature inversions on page 308; create an illustration of each and include captions/labels as a brief description as to what happens to create these conditions.

Fri 2/24

Overview of Air pollutants – - students will check their flip charts for accuracy and will highlight key points of focus relative to each pollutant.
