   Starting School
   by J. Bogdan

   Classrooms ready, students walk through the doors.
   Returning students are confident and happy.
   Some new students are confused and lost.
   Each one begins the year, ready to learn and do their best.
   Students reunite with friends, while teachers reconnect with colleagues.
   Review rules, procedures, responsibilities, and rewards.
   Everyone is enthusiastic as the first weeks get underway.
   It is that time of year, the beginning of school.
   Always exciting as we all are staring school.

   I see a lot of leaves changing colors.
   I hear a lot of leaves go crunch crunch.
   I smell the old leaves go away.
   I felt the leaves get dry.
   I taste the pumpkin pie.

   A Thanks To Wild Turkeys

   The magnificent, majestic turkey
   with its stripes and dark plumage
   saved the natives from starvation

   Using its big, long legs
   to grip on the White Milky Snow

   With a bow and an arrow
   the Natives hunted it

   It was saved in the Deciduous forest
   where the ground was covered
   with a carpet of leaves

   The Natives were grateful
   to this wild creature
   for saving their lives
   by giving its life
