Unit I is an introduction to oceanography

It covers a wide range of topics, including marine organisms and ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves, plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor

In this unit, some things the student will become familiar with, are early ocean explorers and the seas that they sailed
You should read over chapter one in the marine science book

A homework assignment is to hand in a paper describing the uniqueness of the Caspian, Dead, Black and Sargasso seas. Description should be about 2 or 3 sentences long for each sea
