Assignment Population Pyramids
You will produce an 8 slide powerpoint presentation showing your understanding of Population Pyramids
You will pick a Developed Country and a Developing Country of your choice and compare and contrast them
On the powerpoint Presentation your will:
1. attach an image of the flag of the countries
2. attach an image of a map of the countries
3. attach an image of the population pyramids of the countries
4. Compare and contrast the shapes of the two population graphs in 2010
5. Use the Country Reports resource in the student Research Center in the ICONN Database(http://www.iconn.org) to research and describe three factors that affect changes in the human population of one of the countries you studied. Make sure to
explain how each factor impacts human population growth.
6. Research and explain how one technological advance might affect the change in the
human population from 2010 to 2035 in one of the countries you studied.

    1. The Beagle
    2. 22 years old
    3. The finches were good examples of natural selection because there were many different kinds of finches on the island. Darwin noticed that the ifnches had different beaks. He came to the concensus that the finches with better beaks to survive lasted longer than the other beaks.

    3. The finches were a good example of natural selection because there were many different kinds of species of finches on the island. Darwin noticed that the finches had different beaks. The finches with the beaks for more suitable living conditions survived long enough to reproduce.

    1. The Beagle

    2. 22 years old

    3. The different kinds of finches live in different environments. The beaks of the finches changed based on what island/ part of an island they were on, and what kind of food they ate. This is called Natural Selection. Some of the birds had beaks better suited for eating cactus and others had beaks suited for getting nectar out of flowers.

    1. The Beagle
    2. He was 22 years old.
    3. The finches were a great species to study on because of the way that he had only seen one of the finches’ species before. This was to say they there were many new finches to see and observe that he has never seen before. The finches had different beaks with different sizes that was related with the food that they ate.

    1. The name of the boat was The Beagle
    2. He was 22 years old when he made his voyage
    3. The finches were a good example of natural selection because it shows that nature picks the best adapted species to survive and repoduce

    1. H.M.S. Beagle.

    2. Darwin was 22 years old during that time.

    3. The finches were good study because the finches in the island were almost the same. He concluded that the finches were different in beak shape and size. Also he thought that the finches had the same ancestors but they separated and went to live on different islands.

  • Octovio Thomas

    3. Because there was 13 other species of finches when he only thought there was one in South America, and their beaks were in different shapes and sizes. It showed that cause of different environment and climate change, animals have to adapt to survive.

1.) What was the name of the boat Charles Darwin sailed on to the galapagos islands?
    -The Beagle
2.) How old was Charles Darwin when he made this historic voyage?
    -he was 22
3.) Why the finches that Charles Darwin studied on the Galapagos islands are a good example of Natural Selection.
    - The Galápagos Islands have species found in no other part of the world, though similar ones exist on the west coast of South America. Darwin was struck by the fact that the birds were slightly different from one island to another. He realized that the key to why this difference existed was connected with the fact that the various species live in different kinds of environments.

    1) The name of the boat that Charles Darwin Road on to Galapagos was the Beagle.
    2) Charles Darwin as only 22 years old when he went on his voyage.
    3) Among the birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus got more food. As a result, they were in better condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak shapes that were better suited to getting nectar from flowers or eating hard seeds in other environments were at an advantage there. In a very real sense, nature selected the best adapted varieties to survive and to reproduce.

  • Sana Khan

    1) The Beagle
    2) 22 years old
    3) The Galápagos finches provide an excellent example of this process. Among the birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus got more food. As a result, they were in better condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak shapes that were better suited to getting nectar from flowers or eating hard seeds in other environments were at an advantage there. 1: The Beagle
    2: 22 years old
3: The finches are in a arid enviroments.
Most of the Finches have different looks, they all have different shapes and sizes. The ones with the bigger beaks use them to eat cactus without being poked by the needles, and are able to get alot of other foods easier. Also the ones with the bigger beaks, are able to mate easier.
Finches in general have beaks that are suited to eat the nectar from flowers and seeds found in other enviroments. But what makes them a natural selection is that nature selected them to be able to survive and produce and to adapt into different varieties of enviroments.

    1) Darwin’s boat’s name was The Beagle.
    2) Darwin was 22 years old.
    3) Beccause when finches arrived the Galapagos, the enviroment was different. Because of it only the finches that had big peaks had a strongest chance to survive, while the finches with small peaks didn’t have that much of a chance. Overtime, new species of finches form, each one had a different enviroment, depending to the conditions or the amount of food in each enviroment.

    • He was 22 years old when he started the voyage.
    • Because it refers to this sort of branching evolution in which different populations of a species become reproductively isolated from each other by adapting to different ecological niches and eventually become separate species.
