US History Course Overview

January 25th, 2011 by

History can be a complex subject.  There are many ways to look at it.  It can be viewed politically, economically, religiously, socially, intellectually, and even artistically.  While we will focus on all ways to view history, we will spend a significant amount of time defining how groups of people have been affected by US History (events and people).  Groups include but are not limited to: women, minorities, children, immigrants, Nativists, the wealthy, and the poor.  We will seek to evaluate how the lives of Americans have changed over time and evaluate how the past mirrors (in any way) the present.  Each era of American history is unique and collectively these eras have contributed to who we are as Americans today.
