Modern World Course Overview
September 3rd, 2011 by Patterson
The world has changed vastly in the last 150 years. Beginning with in the 19th century, certain countries would come to dominate the world while other countries would collapse. Industrialization, imperialism, global conflict and global depressions, the establishment of the super-powers, nuclear, scientific, and technological advancements as well as the fall of communism and the spread of democratic ideals have created the world we recognize today—a world that is exceedingly advanced but not without its problems. This course is designed to help students analyze the events of modern world history (discovering how and why things happened and how they are inter-connected) and to recognize how the events of the past 150 years continue to influence our world today.
