I was getting ready for a lovely day back to school, when something on the news shocked me.  Channel 3 WFSB said social networking can be harmful to your health.  WHAT!!!!????  WFSB challenged 4 students at Rocky Hill High School to go a week with out texting.  Two out of the four failed.

We live in a society addicted to technology, the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Instant Messaging, E-Mail and much much more.  Could you do it?  Could you go a week without these technologies?  What are your thoughts?  I challenge you!!

From Champlain to Vespucci, we have explored many explorers.  All their discoveries changed the world forever.  Which explorer do you feel made the most significant discovery and why?

(Use ASC — make sure you use your notes and give  at least two reasons why that voyage is important)

And the Winner (or Most Convincing) is…

I have to say you all did a fantastic job on your presentations.  Looking at the points, your classmates all agreed.  Give yourselves one big round of applause.

The year is 1490, and you live in Spain.  You hear about an opportunity to sail the great unknown.  Do you jump at the opportunity for adventure?  Why or Why not?

You must use two specific examples a from your notes to support your answer.  Make sure to include much detail.  If you would like to re-read the information from the worksheet, click on the exploration page.
