Map Challenge #6

Hello Geography Experts!  Map Challenge #6 is coming up shortly.  It is on FRIDAY!!!  This one is a little confusing; therefore, carefully read below. 

 

**If you successfully labeled the entire United States, your challenge on Friday is Western Europe.**

 

**If you successfully labeled Western Europe,  your challenge on Friday is Eastern Europe.**

 

**If you successfully labeled the Eastern United States, your challenge on Friday is Western United States.**

 

**If you did not succeed on the Eastern United States challenge (scored less than a 79), your challenge on Friday is Eastern United States.**

 

DO NOT FORGET THE INFORMATION YOU LEARNED FROM PREVIOUS CHALLENGES.  IT WILL COME BACK!

Map Challenge #5 Update

We are working our way into the United States.  Next Friday, you will need to learn half of the states within the United States.  YOU CAN DO IT!!! 

We will focus on the eastern half of the United States.  This includes every state west of Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennesse and Mississippi (These are included also). 

Play the games and study with the blank maps.  You can do this.

Okay Geography Experts, here is your next challenge.  Many of you have been saying that the new challenge for Friday, May 21 is too easy.  Well I’ll give you a heads up.  In the next two weeks, you will need to know the location of all the states in the United States.  So, challenge yourself.  Start learning them today. 

If you learn all of the states (spelling included) by Monday, May 24, 2010, you will receive extra credit points.

We almost know the ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE!! You all are amazing.  Our next CHALLENGE is next Friday.  You will need to know the locations of the following countries…ONLY THE COUNTRIES!!

Canada

United States

Bahamas

Cuba

Jamaica

Dominican Republic

Haiti

Puerto Rico (This is not a country, but it is a territory of the United States; therefore, we should know where it is!!)

Use the games to help you study.  Don’t forget to review Central America and South America.  GOOD LUCK!!

In the past few days, we investigated maps to learn facts about the Mayan Civilization.  Now, it is up to you to prove the facts are accurate. 

1. Select a fact from the bubble below.

2. Discuss which map(s) you used to further investigate this fact. 

3. Describe your observations from the map.

4. Explain how your observations prove the fact is accurate.

You may answer on the blog or on a seperate sheet of paper. (If I were you, I would try to save the trees)
