I enjoyed researching ancient China. The coolest thing I learned about was The Great Wall of China. I learned that the brutal conditions killed thousands. If you were sick, you were thrown inside the wall and used for foundation. I think overall that the architecture of China was its best achievement. I thought the research process itself was a bit confusing, but in the end I got it to be good. I think ancient China is very interesting.

  2.   Jack R Says:

I learned in researching that there is a device that can detect an earth quake and that The Temple of Heaven symbolizes heaven as a circle, and earth as a square. I also learned that there was such thing as a halberd, which was a pole attached to a blade. There is also such thing as moxibustion which is when you would take some dired herb, and place it on an acupuncture needle. One last thing that I learned during this unit is that the great wall of China is the largest man made structure, and that is goes through 3 providences. That is what I discovered about China while researching this topic.

  3.   Shaela Says:

I have learned that Master of the Nets was the first laid out chinese garden. China was the first country to make paper, they decided they wanted to find something easier to write on. They also wanted something easier and cheaper to make. They invented paper in 100 B.C. China was the first to make paper money.

  4.   Aidan M Says:

i think that this research taught me a lot about China and researching in general. it showed that there is a lot more to researching then just grabbing a book and taking notes. It is a confusing project with all of the work cited required but im sure it will come in handy later in college and high school. i enjoyed the project

After doing the research process for this GRE project I would have to say that I realized being organized is worth it to get the project done on time.Doing a little bit everyday helped to stay on top of it. Also, it was fun creating citations using my noodle account. I learned how it’s important to use the certain type of citation like the difference between online database and online source. I also enjoyed learning about the ancient Chinese weapons like the Crossbow. The mechanics of it are really cool. I guess every culture has some really good achievements.

  6.   Anneke G Says:

Wen I was researching about ancient China I think The most interesting thing I learned was about the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China is two stories high, every thousands of people worked on it, and most of the people who died during the construction were buried there in the wall. Also the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emporer was very interesting to learn about. There were 8000 statues buried in the tomb. These statues were ment to symbolize them protecting and serving him in the afterlife. I have learned some very knowledgable facts and can benefit from this learning expierience.

  7.   zach d Says:

what i learned about the reaserch experience was that a webilyorophy does not haft to be typed in noodle tools and what i learned about china was that they invented the cross bow.

  8.   Christine M Says:

I thought learning about china was interesting for many reasons. One thing that really interested me about China was silk. At first, i thought that the silk worm was a worm but, it is not. Another thing that really interested me was the process of making silk. I always thought that silk would be hard to make but it takes a while. This is why i thought China was interesting to learn about.

    Ancient China

Researching ancient China has beet lots of fun. I got to learn about some of the astonishing inventions the ancient Chinese have come up with. For example Benjamin Franklin may have flown a kite with a key attached to it, but the Chinese were the people who invented the kite. The famous architectural creations were another thing China showed dominance over. For instance, the Great Wall of China is ginormous, it stretches over 4,000 miles long and is visible from space! If who doesn’t think that’s cool. Art was the icing on the cake. China already had enough peculiar, attention-grabbing, and remarkable facts, but they still had more thought-provoking facts. Let’s say you were a very wealthy noble, your house would bright as the sun. On the other hand if you were a farmer who made just enough money to keep your house you house would be as non-bright as a gloomy cloudy day.
You too can join the fun by getting “Ancient China Revolution®” in stores Monday the 27th

I learned that you have to site your code nd researching in general. I leanred that ancient China had many acommplishments idueing there decade and also they made alot of weapons. I enjoyed this research project.

  11.   Andrew C Says:

I thought that doing this project is going to help me and a lot of others do research projects in the future. We learned about real and fake websites, how to site our work, and how to take good notes. This project really did teach me how to do a research project. I also learned a lot of interesting facts about ancient china like they valued bronze and jade over gold! Also that the Great Wall of China stretches 4.3 miles long and is in four parts. Learning about ancient China has really changed the way I look at china today.

  12.   ANDY L Says:

Researching about Ancient China was very fun for me. It made me learn about alot of that country. I learned that the crossbow was invented in 450 B.C. Now countrys across the world were influenced by China. From the research experience I learned that you always have to cite your source when ever you take your notes. Also you have to have to have a source code letter. This is what I learned about the researching experience.

  13.   James Says:

Doing this research project was a huge advance for me. Yes, I learned about ancient china, which is great knowledge to have, but it was more than that. I learned how to pace myself when doing a long term project, how to avoid plagiarism, and how to make a works cited page. This is all knowledge that will help me with future projects in high school and college. Then, back to ancient China. I knew what the Great Wall of China was but I didn’t know that it was actually 4 walls. I knew they made weapons, but to find out they were still sharp after thousands of years was news to me. This project had lots of effects on me, and I’m glad it did.

  14.   Alex J Says:

I have learned many things throughout the GRE. China has had many amazing accomplishments. One was the Temple of Heaven. This three story building has many rooms. All the rooms are round and on the outside they are square. The roundness repersents heaven and the squares repersent earth. This Temple was considered to be one of the largest religious complexs in Ancient China. I enjoyed this project and loved to learn about the ways and creations of the Ancient Chinese.

  15.   Will K. Says:

In this project I learned alot about the ancient chinese. Personaly didnt enjoy this project because it was very chalenging for me to complete. I felt very stressed out when I was sick for 2 of the major work days. I had alot to make up. But other than that I liked learning about how the ancient chinese used tools to help farm and keep a good healthy life. Even though the project was a little stressfull I worked through it and finished. If i had to give advise id say, dont be sick during the project.

  16.   Deborah K Says:

During this project, I learned a lot of facts I didn’t know about China. I didn’t know that wolfberries can help you see better. I also think that this project helped me learn about China’s history and culture. I learned how to put my ideas in an essay and how to connect my facts into the video game. Even though the researching part was hard, I’m really glad I did this project because it can help me with future projects on China.

  17.   nicole s Says:

I learned about many things in this GRE. I discorverd many other architectual feats other than The Great Wall such as The Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden city. I was amazed that the Chinese were carving jade and making porcelain centurys ago. I also learn of chiese philosophy such as Buddhism.
The research process also provided an opertunity to learn. Fake websites will try to trip me in the future but now I know to check the authors, references, and links. I learned not to copy the source’s exact words too.
I learned so much and I can’t wait to do another project next year!

  18.   Rosa D Says:

I think this research project was a lot of fun and really creative. I got to learn a lot of interesting facts about ancient China For example I had no idea how silk was made but when we started this projects I learned how it was made, where it comes from, and the silk worm isn’t just a worm turns into the silk moth. I would’ve never known that if we didn’t do this project. Plus I learn ton of other things too! if I were to change the project in any way ill make it shorter I was hard to stay in the library for 2 weeks. Other than that it was a fun project and I got to show my creative side.

  19.   Bradley C. Says:

I really enjoyed doing the GRE social studies project. I have learned a lot more about Ancient China. I’ve have learned about moxibustion and herbs that Chinese use. The thing that made it a lot of fun was that it was a video game. It made me use my imagination instead of just writing about just facts. The video game part was what made this project fun. With all these new facts I don’t know what I am going to do! I was happy with the schedule it helped me stay on track. Now that the project is over I’m going to see if I could make the essay better.

  20.   Jake Y Says:

I liked this research project a lot! It taught me man y things, like how to research properly and not plagiarize. This was a really fun project, I wish I could do this every day! I loved learning about china. Ancient china is a very interesting topic to study! All, I would recommend this project to many others even though they will have to do it anyway.

  21.   Vy N. Says:

My experience with the GRE project was overall interesting. I thought the project was a bit fast paced and challenging to incorporate the twist of the video game. However I had also learned new information and skills from doing this project. Such as some of China’s greatest achievements but also organization skills like how to break down a big project step by step so it is easier. Which I believe is a skill we can add to all the big projects we will face in life. Yes, I do admit that I did fall a little behind but ou can always learn from our mistakes … or at least realize what you did wrong and what you can do better next time. Reflecting back what I realized it that the dept of the purpose of this experience was deeper than thought. Not only did this project teach us how to research information and use it without Plagirism but also how important it is to stay on top of our work because later it will become harder to catch up. In conclusion even if I found the project difficult you can always learn from all your experiences.

  22.   Athena M Says:

I think that doing the GRE project was a great experience for me! I was allowed to be creative in finding pictures and creating the cover page. I was taught a lot of different research technique as well like, how to avoid plagiarism and how to site your sources properly. I really learned a ton about ancient China. Like how the Great Wall Of China took many years to finish and how the people who were making the wall were treated very badly. I think that the GRE project was overall a fantastic experience for me.

  23.   Alyssa b Says:

I learned how to take good notes and not plagurize. It was very fun to learn about ancient China.

  24.   Maggie B Says:

I think the GRE was a good experience for me. I think the most interesting thing i learned about was the siesmometer. The siesmometer is a device that can detect earthquakes before they come. This is an important device for china because they had a lot of earthquakes.Im glad I got to learn about these achievements.

  25.   Charlie M Says:

I learned alot about the GRE project. Over all it was pretty hard but I think it was great experience. I also think the works cited, webliography, and video game cover all will help us later on in life in high school and collage. But overall I really enjoyedd the project.

  26.   Thomas Says:

The research was not very hard and was fun learning about what happened back in ancient china. It should be taught to other coming 7 graders and the fact that you make it a video game is really cool thank for all your work
