Good Afternoon! Please excuse the brief blog posts as I temporarily type with 1 hand. I took a spill Friday evening, ended up in the ER and am going to see the orthopedic dr. this afternoon to determine where the break is—I’m hoping it is just badly bruised:( So……If the children tell you that I had a cast and my arm in a sling today–they are telling the truth!
Wish me luck…..Mrs. Aronson will dismiss the children for me as I will be picked up early for my appt. (no driving–my poor hubby:( is my temporary taxi)
Today the children got their new classroom jobs & we read about Buttons’ the bear’s weekend adventure with Bella
For Language Arts, we read Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Farm as a read aloud. The children then did writing related to the story. The children made missing animals posters with lots of writing. (many children did not know his/her phone number–ask your child what it is……..) We also worked on final sound segmentation activities & had a circle sharing time on the topic of how do you take care of animals and how must it differ amongst animals.
In the afternoon, the children will work in pairs to play the No 1′s math game. It’s a game similar to Candyland however numerals take the place of colors. If your child rolls a 1–he/she won’t move at all on the game board. The focus of these lessons build up to dominoes and more probability math lessons. We also read 2 versions of the story of “The Mitten” today.
Have a great afternoon and evening…… -Lori
