    Does anyone know how to do #19 and #20 on page 3 of the STANDARD ALGEBRA II packet?? not the one with the formulas on it.. but the other one!

    Hey Kate we did those problems like this:
    19) you have to sort of combine the equations together, so f(x)=x-5 and g(x)= x(squared)-4 so the combined equation would be:
    (x-5)squared-4 and you solve by doing:
    (x-5)(x-5)-4=
    xsquared-10x+21
    20) so the combined equation in 20 is xsquared-4-5= xsquared-9
    does anyone know how to do 18, 23 and 22 on page 6?

    hey could anyone help me with problems 16-19 on page 6 in the standard review packet that dosnt have any formulas on the front.

    and for the ones on page 6 you have to use logs for 16 through 19, and for 16 20 21 and 22 they all have the same bases so in 16 you take out the 12s and get 5=2x+1 and for 20-22 the logs cancel. in 22 it becomes ln16 = lnx^2 so the ln cancles and you get the 4 and -4
