i am doing the hw due 11/16…the packet and i am having trouble on #5. so i set up the proof and for step 2 i did m<ABC=m<CBD.
for step 3 i did 2(3x-5) divided by 5 -7=3.
step 4. 6x-10 divided by 5-7=3…dist. prop.
for step 5 i did 30x-50-7=3…mult. prop. i did this bc i wanted to eliminate the divided by 5 part so i mulitplied everything by 5.
for step 6 i did 30x-57=3…combine like terms.
and for step 7 i did 30x=60…add. prop.
but for step 8 when you divide 30 by 60 you get x=2 not 10. so im confused on what i did wrong.

in the proof packet but the one with the answers im confused about the first one. for step 4 it was AC=BD and you said the reason was segment addition postulate but wouldnt it be substitution? and also for that same proof before step 3, could u do… AB+BC=AC as one step and then another step as BC+CD=BD and justify it as segment addition postulate and then just continue with the AB+BC=BC+CD?
