You choose The Question. Please remember in your response to start with the question you are responding to (not just the number). Only respond to one, please.
1.) What is one fun fact that you learned today in class that you did not already know? (Your response should start with “One fun fact I learned today is “)
2.) When you explored the blog, did you click on any links that interested you? Which ones? Why?
(Your response should start with “Exploring the blog, I found the following link(s) to be interesting… The reason I liked them is… “)
3.) Where have you used math?
(Your response should start with “I used math to… “)

3.) Where have you used math?
I use math all the time, if i’m buying something i count in my head how much change i should receive and how much i’ll have left. Also my phone can hold up to 496 text messages, so every now and then i check how many i have sent and received and i subtract it from 496 to see how much more i can send and receive.
Exploring the blog, I found the “Pi in History” and “Math History” links to be interesting. I thought this interesting because I have always have been fascinated by history and culture, and this helps show me how math was used by these cultures.
Patrick,
If history interests you, take a walk around the room when you get a second – you’d probably love the timeline. Also, you are going to LOVE what we are doing in class tomorrow… We are bring Pythagoras back!
Great teamwork,
Mrs. Corricelli
I have used math in many ways. When shopping I bring a planned amount of money with me and subtract in my head how much I will have left after my purchase. I also use math to count how many minutes I need to get ready in the morning so I can wake up at the latest time possible. And I use math when baking so I can meause out the amount of ingredients that the recipe needs.
One fun fact I learned how often the average teen texts a day.Exploring the blog i noticed a small box that tells from what country people view the blog and how many people view it. I used math to calculate my on base percentage and batting average.
One fun fact I learned today is that I need geometry for the basics of a lot of things. Especially science like: robots, MRI equipment, etc. If the basic shapes are not understood, like the cells shape, there is no way science can be understood. Geometry is the basic element of learning science. If the shapes are learned today, then later on it be easier to understand the topics seen in science.
Things that caught my interest was using math to add up all the things i’m buying at a store so I know what the cost of the items would be approximately.
one fun fact i learned in class today is that a point has zero dimensions. i used to think of a point as a small two dimensional object, so this really surprised me
Question 1: From the video we watched, I learned how much teenagers generally text. The number is a lot higher then I would have thought. Especially the girl who sent 200,000 texts in a month.
Specific to today, I thought it was really interesting learning some examples of the different dimensions. I never knew that if a 3D object, for example a desk, becomes 4D when you add movement.
I use math to count money, calculate tips, and to measure things. also when a store has a sales i use math to try to find out have much something cost.
I used math to find discounts when I go shopping so I know the final price of my purchase. I also use math when im making food like mac and cheese I have to use math then so I can figure out the right measurments to it.
