Update!

Hi, Everyone: Seniors are more than halfway through their year and looking forward to their walk across the stage. The yearbook staff is honored to be capturing their moments and memories at Conard High School and wants to be sure that people have a yearbook to look back at in years to come. At this point, all book orders are on a first-come, first-serve basis and a limited number remain. Please be sure to order your book ASAP! The current cost is $85.

 

In addition, Grad Ads can still be purchased. They can be created and ordered by clicking the “Yearbook Recognition Ad” logo to the right.  The final deadline for submitting Grad Ads is also fast approaching….March 23rd will be the last day to submit them so be sure to send your message out for your student to see in their yearbook.

Yearbook Update 11.22.11

Dear Parent/Guardian;

This is the much awaited letter on the yearbook questions regarding submissions and pricing. Direct mailers from Jostens have been eliminated because they are an additional cost. To minimize costs we are utilizing the blog, Enews and the strength of the Conard community. The cost elimination allows us to add pages to the book. Important yearbook updates and links are always available right here on this blog!

Senior Quotes/Notes are due Wednesday, November 30th!

Submit them to the Seconian email at seconianchs@gmail.com

1. Include FULL NAME

2. Length limit is 400 characters

  • Includes all spaces and punctuation
  • Be sure to give credit to author for quotes

Senior Portrait candid photos

You will be allowed a maximum of 2 next to your senior portrait

PRICING

Cost of the book will be $75 until January 1st; after that the cost will increase to $85. All orders placed by January 1st will be entered in a drawing for a free book. Orders can be done directly through school or online.

First Yearbook Letter 2011

Dear Conard Parent/Guardian:

Welcome back and congratulations on being the proud parent or guardian of a member of the Class of 2012. The creation of the Senior Conard Yearbook (Seconian) is underway and we are looking forward to an exciting year. This is an enormous project and we have had a great group of students step up to take it on. In order to help your student make sure that they are a part of the yearbook and the memories of the Class of 2012 we want to make sure you are again made aware of some important dates and deadlines:

  • IMPORTANT: Premier Portrait Studio is the photographer for the Senior Portrait section of the yearbook. At this point, they will no longer be coming to campus. Appointments are available until September 30th at either of their studios in New Britain or Plainville. Please go to www.premierportraits.net or call 800-894-4270 to schedule your appointment.
  • Candid photos will be accepted starting September 26th. Photos can be submitted online at our blog: http://whps.blog.org/conardyearbook/ or dropped into the drop box in room 274. Students may submit up to 10 photos; we do not guarantee that all photos submitted will be used. Photos for the following sections are needed:
    • Junior Prom (Class of 2011 only)
    • Back in the Day (group photos preferred)
    • Candid photos from other school events including sports, clubs, music, drama, etc.
  • Senior Quotes/Notes & Choice photos: Students will receive the handouts in homerooms on September 21st.
  • The final cost of the yearbook will be announced on October 15th as the staff is in the final stages of determining the layout and length of the book. Any student orders for yearbooks placed by January 31st will be registered in a drawing for a free yearbook. The cost of the yearbook will increase by $10 after January 31, 2012.
  • Parent Ads will be available online by the end of November at: www.gradads.com We will be offering 1/8 page ads only in order to allow room for as many parents as possible and to keep book affordable for as many members of the senior class as possible. Additionally, if you are a local business interested in submitting an ad please contact an adviser in order to submit artwork.

Initial Ideas

This is a call to all certain and potential staff members.  Mrs. Piretti asked you to post ideas and concerns about the yearbook, its layout and design, promotion, sales, and/or any other questions you might have.  What we brainstorm here will be discussed next meeting.  Let us know what you think, and thanks for dropping by today.  We’re both really excited to work with you!

Hi, Everyone:  Welcome to all students and parents.  This will be the one-stop-shop for everything yearbook this year!  We’re just getting set up, but be on the lookout for information about ordering, buying ads, and fees coming up soon.  Thanks for your interest; be sure to check back her often!

Welcome also to our new staff members.  Be ready for posts about meetings and to gather ideas.  Stay tuned!
