If you could change the ending…
If you could change the ending of any book that you have read, how would you change it? Why is your ending better? Why do think the author ended the book the way s/he did?
If you could change the ending of any book that you have read, how would you change it? Why is your ending better? Why do think the author ended the book the way s/he did?
Who would it be? Why? What would be the best and worst things about being that character?
We are nearing the end of the school year – what were some highlights of this year? What are some things that you are looking forward to in the next year?
Hello Grade 2 -
Today you will be doing research on an amphibian and recording your information in a flip book.
On the first page, write your name, circle the word AMPHIBIAN and write down your the name of the amphibian you will research – choose from the list on Enchanted Learning. To get there, click HERE. Do NOT choose Gerrothorax or the plain old frog.
For today, work on making your sketch – put details on this – if there is a color listed, write it down with arrows where that color goes. Then move on to habitat and prey/what they eat. TAKE YOUR TIME, DO YOUR BEST WORK!
We will finish this next week.

Hello Mrs. Hansen’s class!
Today we will practice using an internet encyclopedia to find facts about a mammal. A mammal is an animal that has fur, gives birth to live babies (instead of laying eggs), and is able to feed its young with milk. Examples are dogs, cats, elephants, zebras, people (yes, we are mammals!) and bats.
To use this, type the name of the animal in the box and click GO.
You will see a list of possible matches to what you are looking for.
When you see the name of the animal you wanted UNDERLINED IN BLUE, click on it. This will bring you to the article.
Your job is to read the article and then share 1 fact that is new to you with a neighbor.
I know this is fun, but try to keep the noise down.
When you have shared a fact or 2, then look for other animals that you are interested in. See you next week!

Thanks to all of the readers who challenged themselves to read this year’s Nutmeg Books!
If you read at least 5 of the Nutmeg Books, please vote for your favorite book! The voting will be open until the end of school on Monday. Please only vote 1 time. If you have read 8 or more Nutmeg books, you can join us for the Nutmeg Pizza Party – date to be announced.
Hello Bugbee students – I have gone through the first batch of suggestions for books to add to our library collection and have left comments for all of you. I am always amazed at how many great books there are out there and it is so much better to hear about them from friends! Check out my brief comments…some books, like Pokemon, I probably won’t order because they are so easy and inexpensive to get from local book stores and because they don’t usually come in hard-cover, which we really need or they will fall apart very quickly. Keep suggesting – I really enjoyed seeing your comments!
