5th Grade Orientation

A big Team 7-2 Welcome to all of the 5th Grade Students and Parents who are here for orientation tonight!

My name is Mr. Jarboe and I teach Social Studies on Team 7-2

The Social Studies Curriculum in 7th grade focuses primarily on examining ancient cultures. We examine the following aspects of these ancient cultures:

  • How geography influenced the development of the particular civilization.
  • The cultural and technological achievements of the civilization.
  • The influence of that civilization on our modern world.

In addition to examining these characterisitics we focus on parcticing/mastering the following skills:

  • Primary Source Analysis
  • Research Skills
  • Persuasive writing
  • Preparing our students for success on the CMT
