So… What IS a Wiki? West Hartford teachers and students are working collaboratively on research projects, history assignments, book talks and more. Students can log into a wiki and complete assignments, discuss a topic or upload a document anytime/anywhere! It has exploded teaching and learning in our High Schools.

 

West Hartford Public Schools has purchased a Private label wiki from WikiSpaces.  Wikispaces Private Label is a self-contained wiki environment. We have the ability to create any number of wikis on our Private Label — as well as administer all of the users and content. We determine which wikis are public, protected, or private and what level of access each user has to each wikis.

Currently our entire wiki site is private. All wikis and pages, as well as discussion threads and messaging, are open only to approved members of the site. Each member must sign in to have access to an indiviual wiki. The private label comes with SSL encryption, meaning that the information you send to our service is secure.
