Flip Video

Most West Hartford school libraries are housing several Flip Video cameras that can be utilized immediately in our classrooms.  The best and quickest tutorial I have seen can be found at this link from the University of Indiana (only a few minutes and well done!):

Flip Video cameras install software called FLIP SHARE onto your computer. The video below gives a quick demonstration of how this software looks and how to get the videos from the camera onto your computer:

BeTheMedia – is a new initiative by West Hartford Community Television that will train and imbed citizen journalists in our schools and neighborhoods so they can present local news, unique perspectives and community activities about West Hartford. These volunteer journalists will videotape events, create videos and post them to our community television video blog and write a description of the event. Town residents will be able to watch the short videos online and on television programs on our channels.

You may need the following applications as well if you are going to be editing videos or using them in a powerpoint presentation.

School Tube – www.schooltube.com – to upload videos for sharing with others

MediaCope - http://www.mediacope.com/index.html – A free and easy to use program that will convert video formats.
