AP Language Test Prep Sessions

Don’t forget on Monday and Tuesday from 2:30 – 3:30 we’re holding a test review in room 214.  Be there!

Persuasion Prompt Practice/Synthesis Stuff

1. For this practice, please annotate the prompt (question #3), prepare an outline, and write the intro.  We’ll discuss it on Monday.

2. While you’re at it, you can read the synthesis prompt (question #1) and the sources and annotate them as well.

We’re almost there, folks.  Work hard on these, and we’ll discuss these on Monday.

Rhetorical Analysis Practice

Have a look at the Magna Soles prompt in this packet.  Then make a Says/Does chart, fill out a rhetorical triangle, and write an intro with a thesis.  We’ll discuss the prompt, article, and essay in class.

This is the paper we’ll work on this week.  Take a look and get started, though we’ll have time in class.  (Just a head’s up, the rubric is subject to change.)  It will be due Friday, May 4th.

4/27: AP11 Update

Due to some of the problems completing assignments this week while I was out, you may have the weekend to complete all assigned work. The following will be due Monday:

1. Complete the multiple choice practice.
2. Check answers and complete the one-page reflection.
3. Complete Gatsby
4. Complete the third and final Gatsby blog.

Please use Friday’s class time effectively; remember that I place 100% trust and value in the sub’s report. Be ready to submit and discuss all work during Monday’s class!

4/25 – Complete essays and begin scoring and discussion

4/26 – AP Multiple Choice (FOR REAL!) Please work on the diagnostic test in the FREE AP Prep book starting on page 38.

4/27 to 4/28 – By the end of the week we will: 1.) complete AP multiple choice diagnostic test, 2.) write a one-page reflection on how you did after checking your answers. 3.) complete Gatsby and 4.) write our third round of blog posts. All four assignments are due by the end of class on Friday! You will need to use home study and classwork time to compete it all.

Week of 4/9: AP11
